General Sales Manager

Our General Sales Manager (GSM) is responsible for profitability in both the new and used vehicle departments and for customer retention. To achieve this, he/she must effectively manage sales personnel, have a strong knowledge of the market, and an in-depth understanding of all sales departments’ financial data as well as strong customer relations skills.

In this role, you'll primarily:

  • Oversee training and development of sales staff
  • Forecast goals and objectives for sales, gross, and key expenses on a monthly and annual basis
  • Prepare and administer an annual operating forecast and budget for the new and used-vehicle sales department.
  • Maintain proper vehicle inventory
  • Assist individual salespeople in setting aggressive yet realistic monthly goals
  • Direct and schedule the activities of all department employees, ensuring proper staffing at all times

For this role, you'll need:

  • A minimum of one year experience as a General Sales Manager
  • Proven track record of increasing New Car Sales
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Professional appearance and work ethic
  • Great attitude with a high-energy personality
  • Solid supervisory and leadership experience, with a track record of mentoring and growing employees
  • Ability to implement a structured selling system to maximize volume, gross, and customer satisfaction
  • Possess strong structuring, desking, and closing skills
